Personal Dancer

The magic that is the pristine art form of Bharatanatyam captured Soumya Tilak, when she was as little as 2. As she became intently interested in dancing, her parents decided to enroll her into formal classes at the age of 4, under Kalaimamani Sri. S. Natarajan (of Melattur Bhagavata Mela fame). Soumya began her initial training under him and his daughter Smt. Priyamvadha Murali (a senior student of Padmasri Smt. Chitra Visweswaran) in Dubai, UAE, where Soumya spent most of her childhood.

Bharatnatyam!

Indian Classical Dance

Bharatanatyam is one of the most divine dance forms of India. Bharatanatyam’s statues poses, geometric lines, detailed hand and eye movements and complex foot rhythms around a deeply spiritual core. The rhythmic use of time in the music and steps is a sacred language that has survived life’s changes through millennia.
